China Earthquake Relief
The devastating earthquake in Wenchuan, China has shaken all the Chinese hearts, as well as souls of companies and foreign friends concerning China. As the worlds 3rd biggest construction machinery manufacturer, Terex Corporation is very concerned about the well being of all people affected by this tragedy. With constant donations from global employees, Terex has sent the first batch of donation of RMB 2MM to the Red Cross of China.
Meanwhile, knowing the urgent needs of construction equipment, Terex (China) Investment Co., Ltd with its Chinese partners has organized 105 truck cranes (valued RMB 58.5MM), 1 excavator (valued RMB 500K) and a group of experienced technicians to the epicenter area. At present, there are 75 truck cranes serving rescue in Mianyang, Dujiangyan, Beichuan and Mao County.
The strong service and parts team will fully guarantee the equipment to contribute in the rescue and rebuilding. Now, there are still 30 truck cranes and 1 excavator on the way to the epicenter.
"We all pray for a rapid recovery in the areas that have been most damaged", said Ron DeFeo-Chairman & CEO of Terex Corp.

Iowa Flood Relief
What a fantastic group of people we have here at Waverly!
It is truly a tribute to Iowans, and Terex Team Members in particular, to see our team members’ helping hands reach out to each other when Mother Nature gave us a double dose of her wrath.
As we all know, the recent tornado in Parkersburg and New Hartford devastated those communities. Our team members raised $2442.00, which was matched dollar for dollar by Terex Cranes Waverly Operations for the tornado victims.
The tornado was followed just weeks later, by what is now known as the 2008 Floods, which brought unfathomable destruction across our state. Many team members had faced the raging water before in 1993 and 1999, but none of us were prepared for the record breaking flooding that began on Monday, June 9, 2008.
Team Members gathered together to fill sandbags to help protect the Waverly facility and the community. Sump pumps were acquired by a team member who doesn’t even reside in this state, and offered at no charge to those team members in need. Bottled water was sent from Terex Corporation for any team member in need.
Members of our Terex Cranes Waverly family suffered losses totaling thousands of dollars and losses that a price cannot be placed on.
Despite their own losses, team members banded together helping others with the clean up efforts. The daunting tasks of pumping out basements, removing water-logged carpet, soggy drywall and damaged appliances and personal effects was lightened by the helping hands that were out reached to those in need. In visiting with team members who were impacted by the flood, we repeatedly heard the comment, "I’m fortunate to have only had [specific damage]. There are folks in worse shape than me."
Restoring homes and lives back to normal will be a lengthy, expensive and weary task. We are Iowans, we are a part of the Terex family. We have been through times we didn’t think we would survive, but because of our sense of community, our banding together and our strength in the face of adversity, we were able to rise above and survive. We will rise above this as well.
