NEW TEREX® TL310 WHEEL LOADER OFFERS POWERFUL PERFORMANCE
Southaven, Miss. – (March 22, 2011) – Making its debut in North America, the new Terex® TL310 Wheel Loader handles bucket capacities of 4-6 yd3 (3.0-4.5 m3) and boasts a bucket breakout force of 34,534 lb (153,600 N). The TL310 features a surprisingly compact and agile design for a loader of its capabilities. Additional features include the Terex® loading system, a spacious operating cab and a powerful cooling system with reversible fan, similar to that on the company’s popular TL210 and TL260 wheel loaders.
Powered by a fuel-efficient, 203-hp Cummins turbocharged diesel engine, the TL310 meets the latest Tier III emission standards. The loader’s transverse-mounted design protects the engine from jobsite debris and damage during operation. The traction, provided by the load-limit-controlled hydrostatic VarioPower system, makes the power loader capable of accelerating to 25 mph (40 km/h) quickly. The hydrostatic drive also functions as a wear-free brake when the machine is in forward and reverse drive. Moreover, the TL310’s high-performance hydraulics include a load-sensing flow-distribution function. These key components help ensure highly coordinated, responsive and smooth working cycles in every phase, even at low engine speeds. In addition, the hydrostatic technology contributes to better fuel efficiency.
Boasting an operating weight of 38,801 lb (17,600 kg), the TL310 is built for powerful performance with a straight tipping load of 29,101 lb (13,200 kg), an articulated tipping load of 25,352 lb (11.499 kg) and incorporates bucket-rigging points directly on the lifting frame. The Terex® machine’s SP-kinematics combine the advantages of Z kinematics (power at the bucket) with those of P kinematics (precise parallel handling of the bucket and loader equipment over the entire lifting height). Furthermore, lifting and tipping cylinders are fitted with wear resistant end-position damping.

To manage challenging jobsite conditions, the TL310 offers several standard features including versa steering mode (allowing easier operation in applications requiring multiple steering movements) and automatic self-locking differentials on both axles (enhancing traction in difficult ground conditions). The hydraulic center-pivot steering on the TL310 features a rear-axle oscillating function, offering effective, stable and cost-efficient operation. The frame of the TL310 is designed with a short tail for excellent maneuverability.
The cooling system on the TL310 is designed with a wire screen installed in front of the high-volume cooler to protect from dust and debris. For system cleaning and to remove fine dust and debris, the fan automatically switches to “reverse” to help clean out the system, requiring less maintenance. An added benefit is that the air intake is located in the dust-free zone behind the driver's cab.
The cab of the new Terex® TL310 wheel loader incorporates a removable ROPS/FOPS steel frame and provides the operator best-in-class rear visibility through large, tinted windows. Ergonomically designed controls help reduce operator fatigue resulting in increased productivity. This cab also features two doors for easy access, an operator's seat with hydraulic shock absorption and standard air conditioning. All service points are easily accessible, reducing downtime for maintenance.
