UK Graduate Programme Process
The first two years of your career with Terex are critical to your long term success. We will equip you with the tools and foundations to build an excellent career path through our business The key principles of the 2 year programme are as follows:
- Corporate Induction
- Initial 9 month placement at participating manufacturing sites, undertaking a specific project to broaden your knowledge of business.
Core development during the first 12 months will include our global Terex Learning Centre modules, such as
- The Business of Finance
- Customer Service – The Service Difference
- Team Building
- Message Development and Communications
The second element of the programme can follow two routes, dependant on your area of specialism
If you are identified for a specific role at a given manufacturing facility, then you will go directly to this placement for the next 18 months. This could be the case where an individual has specific qualifications/knowledge that links into the succession/forward plan of a site. In these cases the graduate, at the end of the 2 year programme would, ideally, take up a role at the same facility.
Alternately your second element may be at a different facility where you will begin your development in your chosen discipline. If you are a general management trainee you will start to be developed into a range of business disciplines. Please note that if you are in this group, you may well move again during the 2 year programme and at the end you may be appointed to a role that is not at the facility where you attended your final placement.
Ongoing development for the second element and beyond will be defined in Individual Learning Plans. This will be delivered in many different forms, including structured on the job learning, specific courses or further education or ongoing coaching
Your performance and development will be continually assessed both informally and formally. Formal assessments will take place via
- Individual reviews
- 2 annual development centres as a graduate group
Further support will be available for you at every stage via
- The UK Resourcing and Graduate Development Manager
- Your local Human Resources team
- Your dedicated mentor/buddy
