Zweibruecken, June 17, 2011 – Terex Cranes will exhibit at the 5th edition of Vertikal Days, to be held at Haydock Park Racecourse, Merseyside, from 22nd to 23rd June.

Terex Cranes will showcase its new Terex® Challenger 3180 all terrain crane for the first time in the UK, as well as the Terex® AC 100/4L and the Terex® AC 40/2L all terrain cranes.

“We are very excited about introducing the unique cost/performance advantages of our cranes to our customers. Especially with the Challenger 3180, we are confident that this new machine will be the focus of great interest in the UK. We are also looking forward to meeting new and existing customers to share opportunities that our dedicated local team can provide to support and build their business success on a daily basis, and in the years to come”, says Lee Maynard, General Manager, Terex Cranes, UK.

About the new Terex® Challenger 3180 all terrain crane

As compact as it is powerful, the new Terex Challenger 3180 is the only 3-axle, 60-tonne capacity class machine currently available that is designed for one-man operation. Offering a maximum lifting capacity of 37.9 tonnes at 4 meter radius, and equipped with a 50-metre, single cylinder telescopic boom, a 16 meter extension and a full 12.1 tonnes counterweight, the new Terex Challenger 3180 provides self-contained, one-man operation within 15-tonne axle-load limitations.

About the Terex® AC 100/4L all terrain crane

In the 100t capacity class the Terex® AC 100/4L combines high maneuverability with outstanding performance and fast rigging times. Equipped with a 59.4-meter main boom, 19 meter folding swing-away jib and 8 meter variable extension system, this compact and powerful all terrain crane is capable of reaching an impressive 81.7 meter maximum system length. Well-adapted to a wide range of applications, its compact size and 2.55-meter standard truck width make the AC 100/4L ideal for operation on confined jobsites, often only accessible by smaller, less powerful machines. Combining power and versatility, the AC 100/4L offers a broader operating range than any other all terrain crane in its class, completed by exceptional lifting capacity within 12-tonne axle-load limitations.

About the Terex® AC 40/2L all terrain crane

Designed for optimum roadability and versatility, the AC 40/2L features the longest main boom in its category offering a reach of up to 37.4-meters, for a maximum tip height of 47 meters. Combining the advantages of short telescoping times and high load telescoping capacity in all configurations, this highly mobile, 2-axle all terrain crane is capable of lifting up to 40-tonnes at 2.6-meter radius. Equipped with independent rear steering and an easy-to-operate counterweight unloading system - to make it simple for users to spread the load equally across each axle - the AC 40/2L offers driving speeds of up to 80 km/h.

With new Terex Cranes cab design

The new Terex® Challenger 3160 and Terex® AC 100/4L also feature the latest in Terex Cranes cab innovation designed with no compromise on safety. Combining an appealing, streamlined exterior design and completely new working environment it matches customers' demands for comfort and productivity. The equipment layout combines functionality and ergonomics: everything is within clear view and easy reach.
