Franna to Show AT40 Series 2 and MAC25 Series 5 at CICA 2024

Franna, Australia’s leading manufacturer of pick and carry cranes, is proud to announce its role as the platinum sponsor of the 2024 CICA National Conference, Exhibition & Crane Display—the first time Franna has held this honour. At this key industry event, taking place at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 17-19 October 2024, Franna will unveil the all-new AT40 Series 2 and MAC25 Series 5.

“We’re delighted to be the platinum sponsors of CICA this year, a role that underscores our commitment to the industry and positions Franna at the forefront of crane innovation,” said Danny Black, General Manager, Franna. “This can be seen through the advancements made to our flagship models—our focus on power, efficiency, and enhanced safety highlights Franna’s commitment to delivering cranes that not only meet current operational demands but also continue to raise the bar for performance and reliability.”

At the heart of both the AT40 Series 2 and MAC25 Series 5 is the Mercedes-Benz OM936 engine, a powertrain that aligns with the latest Stage V and Tier 4 Final emissions standards, ensuring future compliance with upcoming Australian Design Rules (ADR). This engine not only reduces emissions, but its proven reliability and performance history make it the ideal choice for heavy-duty lifting tasks.

Franna has collaborated with Penske Power Systems to make the OM936 engine easily integrated into these models. Delivering a notable increase in power—230kW for the AT40 Series 2 and 210kW for the MAC25 Series 5—this upgrade also includes enhanced gearbox tuning for smoother driving. This results in cranes that offer exceptional lifting capacity, improved fuel efficiency, and streamlined operation—key factors in reducing operating costs and maximising uptime for customers.

Beyond engine upgrades, these models also have upgrades to boost safety, serviceability, and usability. The integration of the Franna Safety Radar as a standard feature provides operators with real-time hazard detection, significantly enhancing site safety. Both models also feature upgraded rear bodies designed for easier maintenance, including the addition of ABS, larger capacity batteries, and battery isolators, helping operators minimise downtime and maximise productivity.

The AT40 Series 2, in addition to its power boost, is equipped with new deck panels that simplify serviceability, making it a leader in both performance and operational efficiency. The MAC25 Series 5 benefits from an improved boom and steering response, along with safety enhancements such as the relocation of battery isolators outside the articulation zone, providing safer operation in the field.

“We look forward to welcoming CICA attendees to our booth and demonstrate how the latest technology behind the AT40 Series 2 and MAC25 Series 5 deliver tangible benefits for our customers,” added Danny Black. “By improving fuel efficiency and streamlining maintenance, we’re helping operators reduce costs and maximise uptime. Combined with our comprehensive training and 24/7 support, we’re ensuring that our customers have everything they need to get the most out of their Franna cranes.”

Franna experts will be on hand to discuss how these models can enhance lifting operations through superior performance, safety, and sustainability. Visit the booth at CICA to learn more.
