To mark International Women’s Day 2026, the MDS team took on a feel-good physical challenge - virtually cycling from our Carrickmacross site to Ballymoney, a distance of approximately 128 kilometres.
Fuelled by enthusiasm and a healthy dose of friendly competition, the team didn’t stop at Ballymoney. By 5pm, the team had collectively covered 303km, matching the distance from MDS to Ballymoney, on to Dungannon, across to Campsie, and back to Omagh.
Thanks to the generosity of family, friends, suppliers and customers along with proceeds from a much-enjoyed bake sale, the challenge raised over €1,800 for Women’s Aid, helping to support vital services for women and children affected by domestic abuse.
MDS has marked International Women’s Day on a modest scale in the past. This year flipped that experience entirely creating a simple, inclusive way for everyone to get involved and show support.
The women of MDS were truly touched by the support shown to them, International Women’s Day 2026 will be remembered at MDS as a day when we went the extra mile together.
