Meet Other Equipment Users, Get Personalized Training

To support users of Terex digger derricks and bucket trucks, Terex Utilities offers both online and in-person training opportunities. Programs and material vary depending on whether you are an operator, technician, someone responsible for spec’ing equipment, or a trainer yourself.

The online Tech Tips provide an indispensable amount of info for technicians to use. It is easy to access the info, easy to download,” says Mark Jones, Technical Training Instructor from Ring Power in Florida. “When you call Terex, you get to talk to a person. You don’t have to use an automated phone system. They walk you through a consistent troubleshooting process. They are very professional and easy to deal with.”

However, there’s something to be said for getting hands-on training. “You can read about it all day long in the Terex Tech Tips, but until you actually do it with the tooling in the lab, until then it is just knowledge. When you take that knowledge and put it together with the lab then it becomes skill,” he said.

Here are a few of the training options available from Terex Utilities. For more information contact  utilities.service@terex.com.

Hands-On

This program is designed for customers as well as distributor personnel to participate and understand the proper operations of the equipment. Participants learn about matching the application of the different types of equipment to various jobsite requirements, as well as a basic understanding of work methods and safety procedures. Past attendees have included Fleet Managers, Fleet Engineers, Safety Managers and Administrators, Motor Vehicles Supervisors, Fleet Shop Managers, Linemen, Mechanics, and more. Watch for future announcements on dates for the 2023 Hands On event.

Both the digger derrick and aerial device courses include all aspects for the safe operation of the unit.  The course does not offer training of how to accomplish tasks assigned only safe operation of the equipment.

Delivered through the Edge Online Training platform, operators can also undergo training designed to prepare them to take the NCCCO Digger Derrick Operator Certification written exam. NCCCO is an independent not-for-profit organization that delivers national accredited certification programs. Terex offers practical exam administration for both the digger derrick and drill rig programs.
