Finlay®, a global manufacturer of mobile crushing, screening and conveying equipment, has introduced Elektro, a new range of tracked hybrid crushing and screening equipment at Bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, developed and manufactured by Terex India at its Hosur facility. Available initially for the Indian market, the Elektro machines will also be introduced across selected international markets where Tier 3 emission standards apply. Combining Finlay crushing technology with flexible diesel-electric operation, the new hybrid products have been designed to help customers reduce fuel consumption, lower operating costs and support more sustainable operations.
The Elektro range debuts with two models: the J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher and C-1540 Elektro cone crusher, with additional products planned as the portfolio expands. Both models can operate using mains electricity where a grid connection is available, or via an onboard diesel-powered generator when working in remote locations. This approach allows customers to benefit from electric-drive technology without sacrificing the flexibility required for quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications. It also helps reduce fuel consumption, lower maintenance requirements and support lower emissions compared to conventional diesel-hydraulic machines.
"Customers across India and other Tier 3 markets are increasingly focused on improving productivity and managing operating costs, while also looking for practical ways to reduce fuel consumption and emissions," said Mohit Kumar, Assistant General Manager of Products, Terex India. "Developed and manufactured by Terex India at its Hosur facility, the Elektro range combines local engineering expertise with the global design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities of Terex. The result is a hybrid crushing solution that delivers operating flexibility, a lower cost of ownership and long-term value, while helping customers advance their sustainability goals."
Built on one of Finlay's most established jaw crusher platforms, the J-1170 Elektro incorporates a direct electric-drive Terex single-toggle jaw chamber and heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder. Designed for quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications, the machine delivers the productivity expected from the J-1170 platform while helping customers reduce fuel consumption, lower maintenance requirements and improve overall cost per tonne through the benefits of hybrid power. The aggressive crushing action generated by its high-swing jaw design promotes efficient material entry into the crushing chamber to support consistent throughput and performance. The machine also features a double-door electrical panel designed for demanding dusty environments and an integrated telematics system for real-time machine performance monitoring.

Joining the range is the C-1540 Elektro cone crusher, which pairs the Terex® 1000 cone chamber with direct electric drive technology and hydraulic closed side setting adjustment. At the heart of the machine is the Automax cone crusher, which uses a high-throw design to produce high-quality aggregates while delivering strong throughput and performance. The machine is also equipped with automated metal detection and a cone level sensor to promote consistent choke feeding, helping maximise productivity, product quality and liner utilisation. Like the J-1170 Elektro, it features a double-door electrical panel to provide protection in dusty conditions and integrated telematics for real-time machine monitoring.
