A UK recycling yard used an MDS M412 heavy duty track trommel screen to process concrete demolition waste.
The Customer had no way to regulate the size of material that was being dumped at their site, so there were often large pieces if concrete up to 600mm (24") in size. The material was also contaminated with steel which had previously caused issues ripping feeder belts on their other equipment.
The MDS M412 provided the perfect solution for the customer to recycle this material. Most scalping screens utilize a belt feed system which is susceptible to damage from heavy material and steel contamination. The MDS however features a unique Hardox lined reciprocating feeder that can handle the harshest of material without fail. The Drum cleaner works to keep the openings of the trommel clear all year round ensuring that the customer can continue to process throughout the winter and periods of heavy rain, when other screening systems would ‘blind’ over.
1. Heavy Duty Feeder: The heavy-duty feeder can take loads up to 10 ton and is lined with Hardox wear resistant steel, meaning it can handle the most abrasive, heavy material.
2. No Screen ‘Blinding’: The drum cleaner mechanism (unique to MDS Machines), keeps the trommel openings clear in all applications and conditions.
The Robust features of the MDS M412 in combination with the drum cleaner mechanism meant this customer could process material with little to no downtime, all year round leading to increased profitability. Concrete material free from sticky clay and fines also reduced unnecessary wear and tear in their crushing operation. .
