Building stronger minds for safer workplaces at Farlough

April 24, 2026

At Terex Washing Systems, safety is more than a priority, it is a core value that shapes how we work every day. During World Safety Month, the team at our Farlough site has placed a renewed focus on an essential part of our Zero Harm journey: Mental Health and Psychosocial Safety.

Recognising that a safe workplace goes beyond physical conditions, the Farlough team is championing the connection between mental wellbeing and physical safety. When team members feel supported, resilient, and able to speak openly, they are more engaged, more aware, and better equipped to work safely.

As part of this initiative, both Managers and Supervisors across the site have completed dedicated Mental Health Awareness for Managers and Resilience Training. These programmes have equipped our leaders with the knowledge and confidence to recognise early signs of mental strain, support meaningful conversations, and foster a culture where wellbeing is prioritised.

This investment in leadership development is already making a positive impact. By strengthening their own resilience and understanding, our leaders are better positioned to guide their teams through challenges while maintaining a strong focus on safety in every task.

Strong, supported leaders play a critical role in building a workplace where safety and wellbeing go hand in hand. At Farlough, this means creating an environment where communication is open, support is accessible, and every team member feels empowered to speak up, whether about hazards on the ground or pressures they may be facing.

This approach reflects our wider commitment to continuous improvement in safety culture. By recognising that mental health and psychosocial safety directly influence physical safety, we are taking meaningful steps to protect our people, strengthen our teams, and drive sustainable performance.

As we continue our World Safety Month activities, the Farlough site remains focused on one clear goal: ensuring every team member goes home safe, healthy, and supported - every day.
