At Aberdo Quarry, a full Terex Washing Systems Feeder to Filterpress solution transformed overburden stockpiles into high-value aggregates, doubling output and significantly increasing resource recovery.

Problem

Aberdo Quarry in Pentre Halkyn, North Wales, needed to boost production capacity and improve water management to meet rising demand across the region, including North Wales, Cheshire, Lancashire, Liverpool, and Manchester. Challenges included:

 

  • Limited output from the existing crushing and screening setup
  • Valuable material was going to waste due to limitations in the previous setup
  • Growing expectations for cleaner, high-quality aggregates
  • A need to reduce freshwater use and increase sustainability through water recycling

 

Solution

To modernise operations, Aberdo Quarry partnered with Terex Washing Systems for a fully integrated Feeder to Filterpress setup. Sourced entirely from Terex and Powerscreen, the solution delivers seamless crushing, screening, washing, and water treatment in one efficient system. Installed equipment includes:
