Processing dredged sea gravel presents unique challenges, including variable feed material and the need to consistently produce specification-grade products.
By integrating washing, crushing, shaping, screening, sand recovery and water management, the plant provides a complete solution focused on product quality, resource recovery and operational efficiency.
A Complete Terex Solution
The process begins with the Terex Washing Systems washing plant, where twin H30 feeders provide a controlled and consistent flow of material into the circuit.
A 20 x 6 wash screen removes clay, silt and unwanted fines while producing 90mm, +50mm, 50mm and +24mm aggregate products. Oversized material is then transferred to the Terex MPS crushing circuit, where a Terex TG220 Bronze Bushing Cone Crusher reduces the material before it is screened and recirculated as required.
The correctly sized material passes through a Canica® MV2000 Modular VSI, producing high-quality shaped aggregates for demanding construction applications.
Precision Classification and Screening
Further downstream, a 16 x 5 two-deck sizing screen produces 24mm, +16mm, 16mm and +8mm aggregate products. The final screening stage uses a Terex MPS MHS6203 Modular Horizontal Screen to accurately classify saleable products and prepare them for stockpiling and load-out.
High-Quality Sand Recovery
The sand fraction is processed through a Terex Washing Systems FM200 Bucketwheel fitted with hydrocyclone technology. Combining classification and mechanical dewatering, the system produces a clean 0-8mm construction sand suitable for concrete, asphalt and general construction applications.
Sustainable Water Management
Processed water is captured and treated through a Terex Washing Systems water-management circuit incorporating an FDU3000 and AC260 system. Flocculation, thickening and clarification allows water to be recovered and reused throughout the plant, while sludge monitoring supports consistent underflow density and controlled discharge.
