History | Marco - A Terex Brand

Founded in 1936 by E.F. Marsh Engineering, Marco, as the pioneering conveyor manufacturer, introduced the innovative concept of tubular-truss conveyor frames. This design has remained a consistent feature in its production to this day. Marco began with a diverse product portfolio, ranging from basic pit-portable machines to large elevating stackers capable of handling up to 4000 TPH of material. The company also produced essential conveyor components such as idlers, pulleys, and belt covers.

As the market evolved, Marco responded to the shift in customer demands from standardized equipment to bespoke solutions. Customers sought comprehensive, one-stop-shop options, and Marco fulfilled this need. In addition to conveyor equipment, Marco expanded its offerings to include mineral processing equipment, steel supports, and on-site installation services.

In 2001, Marco merged with Continental Manufacturing Co. under the Continental Companies umbrella. This alliance, including sister companies Continental Equipment Co. (CEC) and Continental Constructing Co. (CCC), positioned them as a prominent provider of turn-key solutions for the bulk material handling and mineral processing industries.

In 2002, Marco relocated its manufacturing facility from Monet, MO to Mt. Vernon, MO. This modern 100,000 sq ft facility not only increased production capacity but also enhanced efficiency.

The success of the Marco brand attracted the attention of Terex Corporation, a global manufacturer of Terex of lifting and material-handling equipment. Terex acquired Marco in 2023, which brought with it significant investment and allowed Marco to leverage the insights and resources of other Terex brands including Powerscreen, Finlay, EvoQuip, MDS, Terex MPS and ProStack.
