Terex Omagh Named ‘Manufacturing Team of the Year’

Terex Omagh—a facility belonging to global manufacturer Terex—has been awarded "Manufacturing Team of the Year" at the Omagh Business Awards, held on 6th October, 2023.

The Omagh Business Awards are held annually to celebrate the dedication, commitment and success of local businesses. Terex Omagh demonstrated how the manufacturing site has navigated a variety of global market challenges in recent years, such as cost pressures, supply chain issues and logistical constraints to improve performance and manufacturing output and deliver strong margin for Terex. There are also plans for future growth, with a 29,000 sq ft factory expansion at Terex Omagh to increase production capacity to meet growing demand from existing markets, target expansion into underserved markets, and start producing larger-scale equipment.

The judges were also impressed with the sustainable efforts of the site, with products that support the circular economy, reduce GHG emmisions and offer alternative energy sources as well as the digital investments at the facility, such as robotic welding to improve operational performance. The local Terex site also has strong relationships with Omagh’s schools and colleges to nurture the next generation on the variety of career paths that are available at Terex, a global company with local roots, and has linked up with many organisations such as the NOW Group to cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce. Finally, Terex Omagh demonstrated its impact within the local community, being part of The Omagh Show, Omagh PRIDE parade, sponsorship of local roundabouts and many charitable events to fundraise for local chartities such as the Neal Hanratty Cup and the Terex Golf Day and most recently the ‘Terex NOW that’s what I call Fashion!’ event.

“This recognition is a testament to the exceptional dedication, innovation, and teamwork displayed by our team of over 600 people employed locally at Omagh,” said Matt Dickson, General Manager of Terex Omagh. “Terex Omagh has deep and long-term routes in the area, with a history dating back to our founder, John Finlay, who pioneered the concept of mobile screening equipment. His name has been iconic in the crushing and screening industry with a reputation built upon reliability and performance for over 65 years. Terex Omagh continues to manufacture products that differentiate us in the marketplace and add value to to our customers, while ensuring that our operations are equipped to deliver. This can be seen through our expansion plans at the Omagh site as well as in our efforts to recruit a strong and skilled team through collaboration with many local organisations.

This award not only recognises the hard work and dedication of our team but also highlights our innovative approach to manufacturing processes, quality control, and environmental sustainability. We look forward to building upon this success, continuing to drive innovation and maintaining the highest standards in manufacturing.”
