It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend, LaVerne "Tuffy" E. Rose. Tuffy passed away on Thursday 24th September, 2020.

Tuffy was deeply loved by his family and friends and was an icon of our industry. He was an extraordinary and accomplished entrepreneur who established Nevada Equipment – a specialized aggregate equipment company who served the Michigan and surrounding markets and whose principals and values are represented today through HiPoint Aggregate Equipment.

His exceptional work ethic, long term commitment to his customers and suppliers, unwavering desire to always do the right thing and his belief that his colleagues were integral to both his personal and the company’s success made him truly one of a kind.

As a family man, Tuffy’s life extended to his work life. His sons Andy, Tim and grandson Dan continue his legacy at HiPoint Aggregate Equipment.

Tuffy has had a long standing relationship with Terex Finlay beginning in the 1980s. Testament to the strong bond and friendship throughout the 1990s and early 2000s the Terex Finlay North American organization was based out of Tuffys’ Milford Michigan facility. Everyone who worked with Tuffy through the years remembers his warm hearted humor – big smile and willingness to help anyone at any time.

Tuffy served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW and Clawson Lions Club. He loved life and was active with church and all family activities. Tuffy was an avid Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed traveling.

Tuffy is survived by his wife Laverne Urban and children; Marilyn (Mark) Fellows, Tim Rose, Becky (Michael) Wiitanen, Andy Rose and the late Stephanie (Mike) Bilbey; stepfather of Pam (Mike) Loszewski, Tina (Rusty) Walker, Darrin (Shelly) Urban, Jonathan (Heather) Urban and the late Jimmy Urban and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife Sally and his 6 siblings.

It is with a heavy heart that everyone at Terex Finlay passes their condolences to the extended Rose Family at this time. We are blessed to have known such a “good man”.
