COBRA 230 THE PERFECT SOLUTION FOR UK ROADS
Mark Coad purchases the first EvoQuip Cobra 230 impact crusher in the Southwest of England supplied by Blue Machinery Group, for his Recycling and Plant Hire firm based in Wadebridge, Cornwall.
With over 20 years of experience, M.E Coad specialises in all areas of contract crushing and screening and provides a cost-effective materials recycling service across Wadebridge, Padstow, Bodmin, Rock, St Austell and surrounding areas.
Mark first established himself as an agricultural contractor in 1997 at his site in Wadebridge, but over the years the company has expanded into plant hire and recycling. In 2010 Mark saw the opportunity to start recycling the construction and demolition waste he was extracting from the plant hire jobs using Powerscreen screening and crushing equipment. Due to an increase in demand in 2012, the company expanded its recycling operations to Kestle Quarry near Bodmin. Today the site operates as an Inert Recycled Aggregates processing centre and produces a wide range of clean saleable stone & soil products from the recycled C&D waste.
Mark had previously operated a competitor crusher, but he didn’t like the design feature that required an operator to stand on the platform at the entrance to the Impact Chamber, whilst material was fed into the machine. Therefore, Mark required a new machine that would improve health and safety and working conditions on site. The new machine also had to be compact enough for Mark and his team to be able to take it to sites located down narrow Cornish roads, in the past the firm had trouble taking their old crusher to jobs and were missing out on extra business at smaller jobs.
The Cobra 230 is the new impact crusher from the EvoQuip range and has been designed to enhance the profitability of small to medium-sized operators like M.E Coad. It is a machine that provides class-leading productivity, unmatched versatility and excellent fuel efficiency. Quick set up times, simple intuitive operation and ease of transport, mean this machine is an ideal solution for a wide range of applications. Furthermore, with the Cobra 230’s compact length and height of 9.32m and 2.99m, meant it was the ideal machine for Mark and his operation.
Mark Coad, Owner of M.E Coad comments “I chose the Cobra 230 because of its compact size and it has already proved its worth, because I have completed two jobs already, where I have had to go down a narrow farm track and do a 90 degree turn and with my previous crusher I would have never got it onto site. It’s also great how I can fit it onto a low loader trailer combined with an 8 ton swing shovel, meaning I can take all the equipment needed for the job on one load.”
Mark also went on to explain how he had a variety of crushers on demonstration from Blue Group and other dealerships but found a lot of crushers weren’t compact enough or the ones that were compact enough didn’t have the same value for money as the Cobra 230.
Having worked with Blue over the years was another factor why Mark chose to invest in the Cobra 230. As Mark Highlighted “I have bought a lot of equipment off Blue in the past, having recently purchased my second Powerscreen Warrior 1400X and I have worked with my local salesman Martyn Yarde for a number of years, he is my first port of call when I need any advice regarding the recycling sector. Also, I can’t fault Blue Spares as they have always got the spares I need and sent to me by the next day courier service!”
