1966
Powerscreen International Ltd. was originally set up in 1966 and was initially called Ulster Plant Ltd. It later changed its name to that of today during the 1970’s.
Early 1970's
The early 70’s also saw the introduction and development of the very first Washing Plant – a UPPC 1000 and a Sand Saver Dewaterer. These were delivered to WD Erwins in Coalisland, Co.Tyrone.
1970's
The 70’s also saw the introduction of the MK1 and MK11 Rinser range, and all machines changed to hydraulic drive.
Powerscreen began to realize the crucial need and potential opening in the market. They knew that the natural Sand & Gravel supply would soon be exhausted, and with stricter building & construction specifications being written for aggregate usage, they needed to act fast.
Late 1970's
As technology started to advance in the late 70’s, the Sand Saver Dewaterers soon phased out and were replaced by the more sophisticated and modernized Screw Recovery Dewaterers, later to be called the Trident range.
1980's
During the 1980’s, the Washing Industry had grown so much that the very first Washing Department was set up in Powerscreen.
Demand was so strong that a whole new washing range was introduced to the market with unprecedented success – The Commander and Static Rinser range to name a few.
