CBI stationary systems come in all shapes and sizes – indoor/outdoor; from simple stand-alone Grizzly Mills® for saw and paper mills, to complete multi-dimensional systems for C&D processing facilities that incorporate various combinations of slow speed primary shredders, screeners, conveyors, picking stations, magnetic separators, water tanks, and secondary and tertiary grinders to assure specific product size. But, no matter what the size or application, one thing remains constant – CBI will never, ever, compromise on quality.

  • CBI construction and demolition recycling facility

    C&D Processing System

    Stratford Baling is a C&D facility that accepts construction & demolition debris, municipal solid waste, recyclables, and wood waste. This facility was designed from the ground up to minimize occupied space and maximize debris throughput. Mixed waste is piled on the tipping floor then loaded onto a vibratory screen where it’s separated by size into two components. The 12” minus material is sent to a trommel that removes fines from mid-sized material. Valuable ferrous metal in the mix is removed by an overband magnet before the trommel. Mid-sized material is then sent to a three fraction density separator where aggregates and super lights are removed and sent to appropriate bins. The remaining debris travels to its final destination at the baler.

  • CBI Mulch Grinding System

    Mulch Grinding System

    This stationary mulch system was designed to produce a large amount of mulch, at low cost, to create the most value for bagged-mulch retailers and end-users. This system produces natural and colored mulch of superior quality at 80-100 tons per hour depending on feed stock. The proven CBI 8400 devours whole logs as the primary grinder with an extended infeed allowing for longer tree lengths to maximize production rates. Any tramp metal is removed with an overband magnet on the 8400 discharge conveyor.

  • Railroad tie grinding and recycling

    Railroad Tie Processing System

    Processing 150,000 tons of raw railroad ties a year, the electric stationary system at Ties 2 does what other systems can’t. Railroad ties initially pass over a vibratory feed which removes debris and regulates the amount of material fed into the primary grinder. CBI’s 6060 horizontal grinder is a super heavyweight with a 5’ infeed and 5’ diameter solid steel rotor. Railroad ties, by design, are made from the hardest wood and are often the most contaminated with steel—the 6060 primary grinder powers through 130 tons an hour. After the primary grind, material passes under an electromagnet that removes and separates any metal that was ground up with the ties.
